Field Application Scientist - Wimborne, UK

Solentim is recruiting a Field Application Scientist to work with its range of laboratory instrumentation in both pre-sales and post-sales scenarios.

Business Area

Our customers are Biopharma and Biotech companies working on development of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacement therapies, and biosimilars, as well as biologics’ CMDOs servicing these groups.
We are also looking to expand our business to customers in further identified application areas.

Solentim is dedicated to the development of tools which specifically shorten steps in the cell line development workflow.

The Role

Location & Travel

Living close to or within 1 hour commute of our UK Labs & HQ in Wimborne, Dorset.

When not doing field demos with customers, you would be expected to be in the UK labs and offices.

Field demos will be mainly Europe with occasional US and international trips.

Responsibilities

  • Execute demonstrations of VIPS in Europe – mix between demos at UK Demonstration Centre and field demos at customer sites. Sales territory manager will always accompany to manage the customer and the sales process.
  • Execute some VIPS demos in US – as needed
  • Perform some demonstrations of the Cell Metric imager, sometimes in combination with VIPS and sometimes on its own
  • Generating data with customers which can be used for application notes and posters
  • Feedback information from demonstrations to Product Manager and R&D for further product improvements
  • Feedback to sales on competitor activities
  • Interact with the biology team based in the UK labs

Required experience and background

  • Previous relevant field applications scientist experience
  • Ideally experience with similar types of products
  • Able to interact well with prospects and customers
  • Exhibit good demonstration skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • An understanding and appreciation of the sales process
  • Self-starter
  • Attention to detail in maintaining good customer records and meeting notes
  • Ideally experienced in using Salesforce.com as CRM
