Dr Mark Truesdale

Dr Mark Truesdale - Chief Executive Officer

Mark has over 20 years’ experience in life science, most recently seven years at Thermo Fisher Scientific, during which time he held the position of Senior Director for its Food Safety Diagnostics Business, leading the business unit strategy, product management and tactical marketing teams. Prior to this, Mark spent 14 years with Genetix Group PLC in a number of roles, including Head of Global Marketing, supporting the Company through its acquisition by Danaher Corporation. Mark holds a BSc in Biochemistry and PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of London.

 

 

Dr Julian F. Burke - Non-Executive Director

A former lecturer in Biochemistry at the University of Sussex, UK, Dr Burke has over 25 years’ experience of executive leadership positions in life science companies. He was Chief Scientific Officer for Genetix Group PLC from 2000 – 2010 until their acquisition by Danaher Corporation. From 2011 Dr Burke held executive positions within the Danaher companies, Molecular Devices, Leica Microsystems and Leica Biosystems. From 2019 he was Vice President, New Ventures for Danaher Corporation responsible for identifying new investment opportunities in Life Science and Diagnostics.

Solentim’s directors winning two prestigious Queen’s Awards in 2018

Solentim is guided by a senior team steeped in life science imaging technology. The company’s three directors, Dave Elverd, Aaron Figg, Sky Jiang came together with skills of software, hardware and imaging to design the first generation of Cell Metric®.

Cell Line Development customers quickly recognised the value of the product’s core technology – that of remarkable single cell imaging in a multi-well plate – and soon, the technology began to displace traditional techniques in the area of single cell assurance.

Catherine Petty - Financial Controller

Catherine is an Experienced CIMA Qualified Financial Controller with a demonstrated history of working in the consumer goods industry and manufacturing. Catherine is skilled in Budgeting, SAP Business One, Managerial Finance, Strategic Planning, Accounting and System Implementation as well as significant experience in Process Improvements.

Dr Ian Taylor - Chief Business Officer

Dr Ian Taylor obtained a First Class Degree and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Southampton. Immediately after University, Ian completed a formal business and accountancy training with KPMG. He now has more than 30 years working in the conceptualisation and commercialisation of novel high value life-sciences instrumentation, some of which have gone on to make considerable differences in the development of new biologic drugs. Ian has been with Solentim since it was founded just over 10 years ago.

Heidi John - HR Business Partner

Heidi has over 20 years’ experience working in HR and L&D, spanning in-house and consultancy roles across a range of sectors, including EdTech, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, services and retail, within the UK and globally. She holds a masters degree in Strategic Human Resources Management, and is an Accredited Clarity4D Practitioner.

George Hutchinson - Head of Global Sales

George has more than 35 years’ international commercial experience in the life science instrument business and has been working for Solentim since mid-2014. Before this he was at Genetix Group PLC for six years and, following the Danaher acquisition, he transitioned to Leica Microsystems where he held a Market Manager role for the APAC region. Earlier in his career he was part of the management team that established the European direct sales organisation for Gilson International in The Netherlands. He holds an honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Sussex.

Zoe Cake - Production Manager

Zoe has over 20 years’ experience working in Operations and Supply Chain Management.  She has undertaken multiple managerial roles within various UK market leading companies. Her skills span production planning, lean manufacturing, procurement, change management, logistics, warehousing and distribution.

 

Neil Pomeroy

Neil Pomeroy - R&D Director

Neil Pomeroy has over 20 years of experience in R&D and new product delivery, spanning the automotive, medical device, life sciences and defence sectors. His most recent role was Technical Director at Cole-Parmer, with responsibility for NPD in the BioSciences portfolio. Previously he worked as R&D manager at Bioquell and at several tier one automotive suppliers. He holds a BEng in Materials Science and Engineering.
