The Role:

As part of our North American growth plan, we are looking for an individual to take local responsibility for developing new business and managing the accounts of our existing customers in our West Coast region. The Accounts Manager will have primary responsibility for our reagents and consumables product line.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Taking primary responsibility for reagents and consumables product portfolio
  • Taking the primary role in generating leads for our instrumentation and platform sales
  • Developing, mapping and executing a comprehensive account management plan
  • Working collaboratively with and providing support to the commercial and applications teams
  • Delivering the territory sales target and demonstrating sales pipeline development
  • Working with marketing to develop and drive a local marketing plan
  • Effectively managing the customer relationship and sales process, from target identification to sales order receipt, and ongoing account management
  • Providing technical customer support for their use of assigned products
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer and prospect information within the CRM database; using this to forecast, plan and drive activities effectively
  • Representing the Company at conferences and exhibitions

Experience & Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a Biology-focused major
  • Practical experience of Mammalian Cell Line Development
  • Previous experience in account management sales essential; ideally within reagent sales or similar products (candidates with related lab experience and the enthusiasm to switch to a commercial role may also be considered)
  • Sales ‘hunter’ and ‘farmer’ mentality, with an enthusiasm to generate new business whilst maintaining and growing relationships with existing business
  • Proven closing ability, with a demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets strongly preferred
