The Role:

As a result of us looking to expand the scope and quality of the solutions which we offer, we now have opportunities opening to bring dedicated Testers into our Software Engineering team. In this role, you will help us in the development, integration, and deployment of software in our systems, as well as being given the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplined R&D team to help our customers achieve real-world improvements to medicine and end-patient care.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for definition and configuration of test frameworks
  • Test of new software features and/or applications across Agile Software development teams
  • Review and analyse system specifications to identify testing requirements, and work with the teams to define test plans and estimate the time and complexity involved
  • Maintain and expand regression and integration test coverage as appropriate to ensure the performance and stability of software platforms
  • Troubleshoot and identify bugs in both established and growing software applications
  • Produce coherent and concise technical documentation of testing performed, providing summary and evidence of test results
  • Communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Test in different environments including desktop, embedded and web
  • Produce and execute both manual and automated tests that manipulates software-controlled hardware imaging, movement, and measurement components
  • Coordinate with a multi-disciplined R&D team across the world to ensure positive product outcome

Experience & Background:

Essential:

  • Experience with testing frameworks and technologies
  • Experience setting up testing frameworks
  • Knowledge of test management software and SQL
  • Practice and understanding of source control
  • Proven commercial experience as a Software Tester or similar role
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant computer science, engineering subject, or equivalent commercial software engineering experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively within a multi-disciplined team – both verbally and in writing
  • Being able to effectively work collaboratively on a shared goal
  • Good time management and multitasking
  • Has an analytical mind and a strong problem-solving aptitude

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with regression, and integration testing
  • Experience with working in a business-oriented Agile environment
  • WPF UI Framework testing
  • Web application testing
  • Knowledge and experience with RESTful services
  • Understanding and practice of working in, and testing solutions for, regulatory compliant environments
  • Experience using TFS/DevOps
  • C#/.NET/C++/C programming experience
  • Automation systems, robotic systems control, or other mechanical control systems
  • Image processing and manipulation for object detection and classification
  • Control, setup, and use of imaging systems
  • Setup and configuration of PC, server, cloud hosted and hardware test environments
  • Line-management of a small tester team
